Google has been in the news for a different reason recently. They are another of the leading companies that have introduced meditation to their employees in Silicon Valley.
Their view is that meditation teaches their employees
to manage their emotions better, as well as make them better workers in the
process.
I stand behind Google on this one.
Having conducted meditation training for companies such as Siemens Healthcare,
Ogilvy and Mather, Airtel, Bordier and Cie, Abacus Capital, The Malaysian Liver Foundation, J. Walter Thompson, The
Times of India Group, HCL Technologies & Albert David Inc. to name just a
few, I know Google is on the right track.
Repeated studies have demonstrated that meditation can rewire
how the brain responds to stress. Boston University researchers showed that
after as little as three and a half hours of meditation training, subjects tend
to react less to emotionally charged images. Other research also suggests that
meditation improves working memory and executive function.
So in addition
to all the other benefits of meditation I have written about earlier, you can
now add being a more productive and creative individual to the list!
So start off
the New Year with a gift to yourself (and to everyone around you too) by
adopting the path of meditation into your life!
